Well I didn't have a particularly good time of mounting a decal onto my new drum kit so I've told the band we've got to change our name to 'Jemtonebad' from now on!!! You never know, people may think we're a punk metal band with attitude and give us some more gigs?!
The Jemstone crew had a laugh yesterday filming their new promo video. We recorded some snippets of our favourite songs and then spent a few funny hours miming to the backing track which was our Top of the Pops moment! Thanks to Alex and Ben for their help and we look forward to seeing the finished article after editing and mixing.
Our first gig at Cromer Social Club last night, and thanks to everybody who came down to see us - it always makes for a better night when there's a room full of people! Look forward to seeing you again next month!
Just a little note to say a big thank you to Ben and his team at Holkham Victoria who invited us to play to celebrate the new year. A good night was had by all and we look forward to seeing them for the same event next year. Why not check out some of our newest songs from the evening, 'China Girl', 'I Love Rock n Roll' and 'Get It On' on our Youtube page!
Great Yarmouth Masons' were the latest venue to see us perform, on Saturday night, and it was our best performance to date! We were even booked on the spot for the same event next year! It’s a lovely venue and we were filmed for part of the evening, so we’ll hopefully post a new video on our You Tube page soon.
Talking of videos, we’re thinking of commissioning a promo-film for the band. We’ve got a cameraman, we’ve got a soundman, so all we need now is a nice venue. Anyone got any ideas? Free Jemst♥ne car sticker for the best response!!
At Jemst♥ne we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of music technology (apart from the good looks and super sounds!) So after much trying we've finally managed to get the website looking good for mobile devices too ... woo-hoo! Also, thanks to Teresa (one of our adoring crew) we now have some rather swish PA speaker covers! Oh, and check out the latest video on our YouTube page ('Get Lucky') - if only for the 'dancing-like-your-dad' moves of Jem!
A good time was had last night by one and all at the Seadell. Alas a combination of the rain and 'Strictly' meant not as many turned up as usual (in the summer it was packed!) but for those who did, they all stayed until the end and had a dance. We also had a soundman for the first time and having that extra pair of ears and knob twiddling meant our sound out-front was the best it's been.
Thanks to Jackie who has supported us for the past couple of years and we'll look forward to seeing her for several dates again next year.
We've had several inquiries of late regarding bookings for next year, so if you're interested in having us play at your event then send Mel a message on the Contact page.
We thought we'd start keeping people up to date with the latest goings-on on planet Jemst♥ne with one of these blog things ... well, to all two of you who bother looking us up!!!
Big things happening of late ... Mel is becoming our 'Linda McCartney' - no, not by selling a wholesome array of sausages but by rediscovering her talents as a keyboard player. Graham is eagerly awaiting delivery of his custom-made electro-acoustic drum kit!
